Revelation 21:6-7 says "And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son." In Revelation 21:1-7Jesus was speaking about that those who deserve to enter His Kingdom. Revelation 21:8 describes the nature of those who shall be thrown into the lake of fire. The Greek word for "freely" in Rev 21:6 also means undeservingly. None of us can get to heaven by our own effort or on account of any good in us. So who are those whom Jesus says are athirst in Revelation 21:6? These are those passionately seek the heart of God and have forsaken the world and its allures. The next verse makes it clear that this category of people consist of those who shall overcome the tribulations of this evil world and will inherit the Kingdom of God and be counted as part of God's divine household. These scriptures remind us that we should passionately pursue the things of the Kingdom "...where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Matthew 6:20-21).
