Can a man/woman truly be happy living a sinful lifestyle?

For example, a friend of ours recently left her husband and is living an adulterous life with a yet to be divorced man. She claims to be happy for the 1st time in many years. Everything looks wonderful in the pictures she paints. This is confusing to me.

Can one be 'happy' knowingly living a sinful lifestyle, and is this a good thing?

No you can't live in sin and be happy. The wages of sin is death. In 1 John talks about how we all sin and if you say you don't have sin you make God out to be a lier and the truth is not in you. This talks about the struggle of sin and how the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us if you confess and repent of them. 1 John 1. In 1 John 5 talks about sin in more detail. I believe the Holy spirit is showing something and the best place to get answers is the Word of God. Before I surrendered to Jesus Christ I thought I could live with my boyfriend unmarried and no, you can't and try to live righteous before the Lord. The Holy spirit encouraged us to get married because we were wrong and living in sin, period. We obeyed and the Lord changed our lives. Obey the Lord and allow the Holy spirit to lead you.
