Communism, a branch of socialism, is an experimental social system based on a set of ideals that, at first glance, seem to agree with some biblical principles. On closer examination, however, littl...

In a word....NO! The very foundation of the political construct of communism as a form of government over a nation of its people is totally counter to the very pure and divine core for all of mankind that was 'IN' every 'Creator GOD' message within all of scripture, His Holy Bible! Communism totally goes against the will of man and his God ordained freedoms of choice in all things. God does want us to have structure for the promotion and conduct of civil society and lives of peace and tranquility. Man has that God given right to live and be 'good, loving our fellow man and live righteous before Him' ---or--- 'be self centered, self-righteous and basically not caring about our neighbors, etc.' Communism, in contrast seeks a self-centered utopia form of letting government totally control citizen's lives! Again, in a word, "NO"...primarily because this type of government supplants God and misdirects the people to be OF this world. We, as God's children, are "to be IN the world, NOT OF this world" for we are only here temporarily! --Andy--
Michael has done quite well in his post. It should be noted that the sharing mentioned in Acts 2 and Acts 4:32 - 5:11 had some consequences that were not good. These people had heard, just a few months before, that real estate values in Jerusalem were not going to be worth a plugged shekel in the near future (Mat. 24). So why not share? Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into years....and Jerusalem still stood. The Christians in Jerusalem became de-capitalized from all this sharing. Paul had to take up offerings and bring them to Jerusalem to support the Christians there - 1 Cor. 16:1-3. God wants us to be loving, giving, and sharing people. However, all that needs to be done in wisdom. Don't cast pearls before swine. This applies to charitable giving to organizations too. Some charities spend a large percentage of income in generating more income. Other charities spend little on generating income and much on ministering to those in need.
If one is to focus on the economics of communism and the Bible, there are countless situations wherein the Bible wealth were shared with the poor believers. In practice, there are a few regions in the world today where the overwhelming majority population are Christians, and there is much sharing among the believers ensuring everyone do well. However, in the practical aspects of communism, where those in power enforces the economics of communism upon every person with very limited choice, that is where it goes against the principle of "choice".
