Three appearances of God Almighty to Jacob:

► God appeared to Jacob and confirmed the Abrahamic covenant with him (Gen. 28:12- 15 with Gen. 35:1).

► God wrestled with Jacob bodily in Gen. 32:24- 32. That this was a bodily appearance of God is proven in Gen. 32:30; "I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved."

► Jacob experienced another visible visitation of God in Gen. 35:9- 15, "And God appeared unto Jacob again."

It may look like an angel of God speaking to Jacob. That is NOT true. The truth is God himself, appeared to Jacob on the above three occasions. Father God is NOT the savior Jesus. He is the First-person of the Trinity. Even though, the three persons in ONE GOD are all united.

Hope this clarifies.

(See Genesis 28:11-22 for background of Jacobs previous encounter with the Lord)

Genesis 31:10 In the breeding season of the flock I lifted up my eyes and saw in a dream that the goats that mated with the flock were striped, spotted, and mottled. 11 Then the angel of God said to me in the dream, 'Jacob,' and I said, 'Here I am!' 12 And he said, 'Lift up your eyes and see, all the goats that mate with the flock are striped, spotted, and mottled, for I have seen all that Laban is doing to you. 13. I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and made a vow to me. Now arise, go out from this land and return to the land of your kindred.'"

I believe verse 13 answers the question. He is the God of Bethel or the God of the house of God. He is the creator, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the First and the Last, The great I Am, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, The Redeemer, The Lord of hosts, He is the God of the Bible.

He is The Savior who hung on the tree, died, was burried and arose on the third day.
He is The Lord Jesus Christ.
