Does the word "Discretion" in this verse have a deeper meaning?

I know the Webster-definition of "discretion" but does the word have the same meaning within this verse?

Proverbs 3:21

AMP - 21 My son, let them not escape from your sight, but keep sound and godly Wisdom and discretion.

This chapter in Proverbs is about obedience. Verse 1 reads "My son, forget not My Law; but let your heart keep My Commandments: for length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you."

Verse 5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and leaning unto your own understanding." H-m-m. What has been the downfall of humanity since the very beginning,...according to the Bible.. we choose wrongly!

This verse, Proverbs 3:21 tells us to choose according to the wisdom given to us by God. How do we get the education we need to combat our carnal inclinations? We study God's love letter and pray about everything. We listen to Him above all else, and choose with discretion just like it says. Yes the word means use your better judgement, which is always God's judgement.

To me this verse means: Always strive to have wisdom and carefully choose the path you will follow avoiding evil. (or at least be aware that evil lurks)

According to Strongs, the word translated discretion means the same as discretion to us but with a connotation toward evil.
