We are all prone to disappointment and feelings of rejection, and that is especially true in the aftermath of a broken relationship. However, as born-again believers we have a resource in God's Wor...

There is a reason for everything. What you see as rejection, God sees as a gift. In time, you will understand why it went that way.

I propose two strategies for overcoming, or winning the battle, against rejection. One strategy is offensive and one is defensive.

First Strategy – Accomplish God’s Will Every Day

If we are to accomplish God’s will, we first have to understand what God’s will is. That means we study the bible and pray, asking God to reveal what he wants us to accomplish every day. In general terms, God wants us to be ready to share his gospel message and love other people by delivering his blessings to them. But God will also have prepared divine encounters with other people and he will provide the words and actions for us to engage with them.

By focusing on the mission that God has given us, we are not distracted by the culture of our world and the reactions of people around us. The world and people around us may not respond positively to our words or actions but it doesn’t matter. We are on assignment from the king of heaven. It is only his validation that matters – ‘Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant.”
Too often, Christians seek their self worth and validation from the world and the people around them. This will always result in rejection and disappointment. The world and sinful human beings are against the will and purposes of God. We can never find the abundantly fulfilling and deeply satisfying life that Jesus promised, until we decide to surrender our wills to his will and focus on accomplishing his will every day.

Second Strategy – Put on the Whole Armour of God

Let’s take a look at this armour in detail in Ephesians 6:10 - 20
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”

Rejection is one of the weapons Satan uses to discourage us and cause us to give up trying to accomplish the will of God. Once we give up trying to please God, we are captured in one of his prisons and need to be set free again.

What is the armour of God we need to be wearing?

1)	Belt of truth
We need to know what the bible has to say about us as God’s new creation, what our identity is in Christ.
2)	Breastplate of righteousness
We need to know we are righteous before God, that all our sins are forgiven.
3)	Boots of the Gospel of peace
We need to be ready at all times for opportunities to share our faith – the gospel of Jesus Christ.
4)	Shield of Faith
We need to trust in God that he will protect us from the world and our spiritual enemies.
5)	Helmet of Salvation
We need to know we have been saved by Jesus and we are children in God’s eternal family.
6)	Sword of the Spirit
We need to know how to use the word of God to claim the promises of God.
7)	Pray in the Spirit
We need to be led by the Spirit to know how to pray through the challenges, difficulties and rejections we will face.

I overcome rejection with acceptance, acceptance from Christ, and that acceptance I value above being accepted by people:

Romans 15:7 "Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God." (NIV)

Add to this what Jesus said in John 5:44 NIV--"How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?"

Also, I would add to these some great Bible verses/rejection:

John 1:11 - He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Romans 8:31 - What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us?

Luke 6:22 - Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and shall reproach [you], and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

Psalms 27:10 - When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

Isaiah 49:15 - Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
