I recently saw a statement on a Messianic Jewish site that stated "We will be ruled by a Jew in the Millennium"

On the road to Emmaus which I understand is approximately 7-8 miles from Jerusalem the resurrected Christ appeared to Cleopas and an unnamed companion. In the context of Luke 24, v. 16 states: " But their eyes were holden that they should not know him." Aside from their ability to recognize The Lord being supernaturally withheld, there is nothing in scripture that would indicate he appeared any different than those native to the area (Jewish). At the time of His ascension in Acts 1:11 the two men in white apparel spoke to the disciples: " Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." (Note: "This same Jesus"). Without scripture to the contrary, I believe it prudent to understand He appeared then as He did to Cleopas in Luke 24, no change. Zechariah 8:23 " Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you." (skirt, Jew, ethnic distinction) Zechariah 14:6 is also prophetic, speaking of the millennial kingdom and tells us the following: "And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles." (Keep the feast of tabernacles) Micah 4:2 "And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem." (Also prophetic). Revelation 6:11 "And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled." (White robes) Revelation 7:9 "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;" (White robes) Revelation 7:13 "And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? And whence came they?" (White robes) Revelation 19:7-8 "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints." Revelation 19:13 " And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God." (vesture: cloak, mantle, tunic, upper garment) Revelation 19:14 " And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean." In my opinion it all sounds very ethnic and Jewish to me. Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." I agree that we are all one in Christ but Using this verse to suggest that ethnicity does not continue would require that males become females and vice-versa. He is the King of the World but also King of Israel.
Hi Linda, Nationalities belong to the “old man”, the fallen humanity. With the resurrection of the Lord Jesus God has created a new nation, a “New Man” in Christ, consisting of all the spiritually resurrected people, the true born-again believers. “There is neither Jew nor Greek” in that nation but people who have received a new life in them, the Spirit of the resurrected King Jesus, making up His spiritual body, the church. Jesus had to be born according to His plan and the promises He had given to Abraham. In the Old Testament God gives us types and shadows “of the things to come, but the substance is of Christ.”
Special Note: The word WHITE can be translated LIGHT making a lot of sense about what God is! Second Point: The issue is Jesus was of a faith not a seperate physical order. Please take a good look at ABRAHAM and his establishment of JEWISH Faith. Jewish Religious takes in anyone who is willing to be BAPTISED by SELF immersion in Water. That is exactly what Jesus did related to the Jewish faith under John the Baptist. Jesus nor the Apostles Baptised anyone nor was the Apostles REBAPTISTED aber being baptist by JOHN. However the Church era was charged with this act as a testimony of your confession of faith in Christ as the Son of God. It will not save you but sure testifies what you are to the world.
