One of the challenging questions in a person's life is, "How can I master my own actions and control my inward emotions?" It is not always the case that negative emotions like anger or fear are a sign that God is not in your life or heart. God does allow us to experience such emotions so that we can learn to find comfort and self control over these emotions.Philippians 4:13 We must not be ignorant of the fact that even the Devil, himself uses the same emotions to his advantage, to separate us from God. Only when an emotion takes you away from the acknowledging that God is in control of your life, that is the time when the enemy has taken over our life. In our own capacity, it is not wise to look to ourselves and study our emotions. If we do this, the enemy will present difficulties and temptations that weaken faith and destroy courage. Closely to study our emotions and give way to our feelings is to entertain doubt and entangle ourselves in perplexity. We are to look away from self to Jesus Christ alone and presenting ourselves before God daily. 2 Timothy 2:15 NIV Some of the patriarchs in the bible yielded to their negative end of their emotions prompting them to do that which God had not commanded, and out of fear they lied or ran away from the presence of God. Philippians 4:6, 7: Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. We all struggle at times with our emotions and one of the greatest need for humanity is Emotional Intelligence. To respond emotionally to life’s situations is an important aspect of our human nature. The more we study God's word the more we appreciate that God knows every emotion we go experience and gave us ways to handle and grow in him. John 16:20, NIV
