I have heard some say that the name of Jesus in Greek is derived from multiple pagan deities, such as Zeus, Iaso, etc. Is this true? Others have said that the name comes from a transliteration of the Hebrew name Yeshua into Greek, then into Latin, then finally into English. Which of these is true? Thanks.
