What is clairvoyance and is its practice Biblical?

Is it possible that God gives clairvoyance to people as a gift? How does clairvoyance differ from the spiritual gift of prophecy or word of knowledge?

► The term clairvoyance (from French clair meaning "clear" and voyance meaning "vision") is used to refer to the ability to gain information about an object, person, location or physical event through means other than the known senses, i.e., a form of extrasensory perception (VISION).

Clairvoyance is different from the Biblical usage of "vision" or "dreams".

Visions and dreams are some of the gifts of Holy Spirit, who gives supernatural ability to see things beyond our human senses. Examples are,
1) Stephen saw heaven open, to strengthen our FAITH & HOPE in God through the Holy Spirit (Acts 7:56)
2) Ezekiel saw the future prophetical vision of Armageddon through Holy Spirit (Ezek. 37:1)
3) John saw both God and the glorified Christ in Heaven in the book of Revelations (Rev. 4:2- 11; 5:1- 13; 6:16; 7:9- 17; 8:3- 5; 11:16; 12:5; 14:1- 5; 19:1- 10; 21:3- 7; 22:1- 5)
4) Amos saw the Lord standing upon the altar in Heaven in Amos 9:1
5) Moses asked to see God's glory (Ex. 33:18), instead of His bodily form apart from His glory which he had already seen many times. God refused to show him the glory of His face but said Moses might see it in "My back parts" (Ex. 33:23).

Satan can seemingly copy this ability to see things beyond our normal senses, in an attempt to make Christians to stumble. This is 'Clairvoyance'.

Christians should have discernment to see if something is from the Lord or from Satan.

It does not matter what we call it; clairvoyant, physic, spiritualist, medium, palm reader, astrologist, tarot card interpreter, and so on. They are all anti-CHRIST.

None of that is biblical. As far as word of knowledge, read the word of GOD the Bible for your self you will get all the knowledge and wisdom you need straight from GOD, not someones opinions, or thoughts.
(Is 8:19-20; 1 Jn 4:1-3; Lev 19:31 & 20:6; Deut 18:10-12; 2 Thess 2:8-12 & 1 Chron 10:13-14)

When we become a born again Christian we are each given one or more gifts from the Holy Spirit (I Cor 12:7-11). Charels Stanley has a great teaching on the gifts of the Holy Spirit (he counts seven) in his archives.

These are very practical gifts to build up the body of CHRIST. Such as, leadership, teaching, giving, mercy and prophecy. However, prophecy means the ability to speak GOD's truth witch can always be confirmed by reading the bible. Also on spiritual gifts read 1 Corinthians 12.

Stay in the WORD OF GOD for yourself; there are many false prophets among us, in our churches, wolves in sheep skins.

We must have a personal relationship with THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, that means reading the BIBLE and praying for ourselves, not letting others do it for us.
