“So kill the Passover”, God is referring to preparing the lambs for Passover.

I find using the KJV is difficult but if you read verse 7 in the KJV it says “7 And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the Passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king's substance.” Notice it speaks about the “Passover offerings” which you can then tie back to verse 6 to explain “kill the Passover”.

Different Bible versions have verse 6 translated as this:
NASB: 6 "Now slaughter the Passover animals, sanctify yourselves and prepare for your brethren to do according to the word of the LORD by Moses."

NKJV: 6 "So slaughter the Passover offerings, consecrate yourselves, and prepare them for your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses."

ESV: 6 And slaughter the Passover lamb, and consecrate yourselves, and prepare for your brothers, to do according to the word of the Lord by Moses."

Peace in Christ.
