My Bible, the KJV says that the soul that sinneth, it shall die.Ezekiel 18:4
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Mark 8:36 likewise says:
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

We are made in the image of God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We have a body, a soul, the real you, and a spirit. We are born with a dead spirit.
When we are born again, Ephesians 1:13-14 our spirit is made alive and we are dead. Colossians 3:3. For ye are dead and our life is hidden with Christ in God.
It is our soul/spirit that is saved. We all die because of sin in the flesh, but our soul/spirit is made alive unto God. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The gift of God is eternal life. Not a reward for good behavior, but a free GIFT. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the TRUTH is not in us.
Jesus paid our sin debt in full, past, present, and future sins we have not even thought of yet when He said, IT IS FINISHED. That is an accounting term, which means, PAID IN FULL. John 3:18 No longer condemned. John 10:28-29 We have eternal life now. First John 5:13. John 6:47.
