Of course, our personal relationship with Christ is of primary importance. But, as Jesus said to the apostles after they had been arguing among themselves as to which of them was the greatest, the one among them who wanted to be first had to be the servant of all the others (Mark 9:33-35). In my opinion, this makes it possible to obey, honor, and serve Christ by serving others and meeting their needs, while also assuring that those others do not feel slighted or ignored. Even if those others do not share the same commitment to Christ; are critical of you for your relationship with Him; or are even trying to obstruct your walk with Him, God can use the witness of your faith in your service to them as a means of bringing them to Him.

Rich G this could be helpful it was for me. At the beginning of my walk with Christ I had the same question. It's not easy I did have to learn this but with faith and asked the Lord how? I found that if I walked in Jesus as he did with kindness and without being judgmental or patronising my loved ones did not feel threatened and accepted me for who I had become, or was attracted and interested in the the reason for the changes in me. Rember your are a light you may be a lifeline. Kath
