What does it mean that God will "shorten the time for the elects sake" in Matthew 24?
If Christians will be raptured as some claim, why would God need to shorten the days of the Tribulation for the sake of the elect?
Matthew 24:1 - 51
ESV - 1 Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. 2 But he answered them, "You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.

I do not think it is for us to give an exact answer to this question.
I looked into it for a long time. There are many different opinions about the timings of the "rapture" you can read it on wikipidia.
Some are : pre-tribulation pre-millennialists , mid-tribulation premillennialists , partial premillennialists , pre-wrath premillennialists , post-tribulation pre-millennialists , post millennialists
And also there are different opinions between amillennialists , dispensetional pre-millennialists, one event or two events , a personal experience at a stage of your walk with Christ or a collective one at a God's chosen time.
It is a very long encyclopedic article and difficult to explain.
I suggest that because of this you must trust God and the Lord Jesus, you will be gathered to Him as it is written in the epistles 1 and 2 Thessalonians but when no one knows for certain.
I think it is wrong to instruct people that there will be a pre-tribulation rapture, what if it does not happen? Just think of the crowds when trains and flights are cancelled or delayed and it is only public transport.
Take refuge in the Lord and pray that in the worst scenario He will strengthen your heart and rescue you, there are many miraculous stories of deliverance in the bible.
I was born in Italy and I lived in London since 1992, we are more inclined towards a mid- tribulation, pre-wrath view; but in the States you believe in pre-tribulation rapture. I wish someone will receive an answer.

I agree with you Vanessa that it is probably impossible to answer that question because it would just be an opinion. The bible states that no one knows when Christ will return and neither do we know when the 7-year tribulation will begin. I have read an extensive book on why mid-trib is more sensible, but again, it is man's opinion. I also say to trust God and keep your faith in Jesus.

Trump shortened the timeline of the pandemic with operation Warp Speed. He is the “Trumpet”. Bill Gates is the “Gates of Hell” which shall not prevail. By trying to steer the enemies’ plan and roll out the jabs early, this threw the enemy off their game. The elect are those that have seen through it all and have had a kind of spiritual anointing during this time and have, by most count, avoided the jab.
The elect are the remnant from many nations. Late prophet Kim Clement mentions that Bill Gates will be forced to “open a financial gate for the church”. This will be a kind of restitution for those that remain after the ever-approaching “harvest”.
