Is it okay in some situations for a Christian to sue someone? For example, to sue a child molester for therapy bills for the molested child?

This question would need a good discussion. I had a partner who suffered abuse/sexual molestation as a child and when the molester was sued it was a very distressful process. The case had to go to court, all the dates of abusive incidents had to be precisely recalled, and it was like going through the all drama again.
He then won some compensation money, the therapy did not work. He became a frustrated, violent young adult abusing his family and partners.
I would suggest the best idea is to seek Christian counselling at a local church, to put in order the feelings and moral values of the child. Abuse/sexual molestation ha the ability of confusing and scrambling together emotions for oneself and others. Also seek Christian counselling to try to forgive and forget as much as possible the events that took place.
No compensation can fully compensate the child. Sometimes therapy is beneficial to restore self-esteem. Try to read "A child called it" by David Peltzer. He suffered a lot at the hands of his own mother. Whatever action has to be taken must be in the best interest of the child' physical and mental health.
