I would say that, for us as Christians, it highlights the importance of those who support us in our Christian walk. Although God is the ultimate source of any effectiveness we have in living the Christian life, and in doing what God wants us to do, that effort is greatly facilitated by others who are willing to support us, and on whose assistance we can count, especially in challenging times or undertakings (as Jonathan intending to go into the Philistine camp would surely have been). It also points out that God will supplement godly action on our part with His own support, as He did in causing an attack that originally was against only twenty Philistines to produce panic throughout the entire Philistine army, even to the point where the Philistines were killing each other, resulting in their defeat in the battle by Israel (1 Samuel 14:20-23)..
