This is a ridiculous method that only those who seek to interpret the Bible as they want to perceive it will use to justify it. The Bible is a spiritual book that can only be interpreted and understood by the elect through GOD’s foreknowledge after becoming born again spiritually from above. The Holy Spirit unleashes the meaning behind the scriptures as you draw nearer to GOD. Those, who like the Pharisees and religious leaders of JESUS’ day, seek for understanding without a relationship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Eternal life is knowing GOD in the full complexity of the Trinity, not living in accordance to some moral religion. They will never come to the knowledge of the full truth of GOD because they seek to feel redeemed and elevated from other human beings on a higher moral level. They are, therefore, working for their salvation and not rejoicing in the restored relationship with GOD that JESUS provides and that the Holy Spirit draws us nearer to. The fullness of truth will, at the end (if not sooner), be shown, and put those who try to make their own gods from their own minds to follow to shame.
