No, not really. At the center of prayer is love. Asking for a technique for prayer is like asking for a technique for love. There are no techniques to loving someone, you just do. If you are energetic today, then be in energetic in your prayer. If you are sad, then tell God that you are sad. Prayer is your relationship with God - and more than anything else, this relationship needs to be real, not forced.

The only guidelines I know of when it comes to prayer that are of any worth are the ones that are simple. One example is 'ACTS': Adoration, Contrition (sorrow), Thanksgiving, Supplication (petition). This is a good style of prayer, because it covers all of the bases in our relationship with God. How we fulfill those four bases is up to us.

First rule pray from your heart without reguard of the fear of man or to impress man.

Pray the promises of God that our Heavenly Father has clearly given us and instructed us to pray.

Always pray with a mind set not my will be done but the Heavenly Father's will be done.

Be willing to except no and yes to prayer. We do not see as an all knowing Heavenly Father does of the out come of every prayer.

We do know all the promises of our God are yes and amen but clearly God saves who he decides to save and heals who he decides to heal but the ferverent prayer of a righteous man or woman avails much.

Prayer and fasting may be necessary sacrifices to receive answers to prayer. Be willing to ferverently avail against the spiritual enemy forces of our God.

Remember with God all things are possible but are you willing to keep on asking, seeking, and knocking.

The enemies of are God do their best to stop the answers to prayer but without faith it is impossible to please God. Those that love me obey me is a factor but God's mercy trumps our weaknesses with his amazing grace.

Draw near to God and answered prayer begins to become common place in your life. Purify your heart by the cleansing power of God's word through meditation day and night.

When the word of God become your first instinct in life. It becomes a endless source of life giving wisdom and discernment in all areas of your life.
