"God put me in their lives for a reason."

How would it go over if my friends heard me say that I was heaven sent to them? I think they'd be offended. I believe at least one would say, “Maybe I'm God's gift to you,” and I think I'd understand their point.

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each man a measure of faith. (Rom 12:3) NASB

The NLT says it this way: I give each of you this warning: Don't think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

That's a good warning, in my estimation. Do not exalt yourself in the presence of the king, and do not stand in the place of the great. (Prv 25:6)

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver... (vs 11)

There's a poem titled "A True Friend" that says, “A true friend warms you with their presence, trusts you with their secrets and remembers you in their prayers.”

Warms you, trusts you, remembers you... A true friend exalts their friends, not themselves.

My friends are a blessing to me, put in my life by God. I don't have one that I haven't said that to.
