What to do if evil spirits are bothering you?

Ephesians 6:12

ESV - 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

I think that Paul provides the answer to that question later in the same passage that contains the verse quoted in the question itself.

As Paul notes in Ephesians 6:13-18, waging such spiritual warfare requires use of the protection and weapons that God has placed at the disposal of Christians:

Truth (through ever-increasing familiarity with all of God's word, as revealed in the Bible (including His promises to Christians) to counter Satan's lies and deceptions;

Righteousness (not our own imperfect righteousness (although Christians should strive for righteous conduct), but Christ's complete holiness imputed to us);

The gospel of peace (special attention to the benefits bestowed on Christians by Christ, His message, His control over events, and the eternal redemption that He has gained for those who seek Him, irrespective of external circumstances or earthly adversity);

Faith (which Paul likens to a shield that is capable of putting out the fiery spiritual "darts" or arrows (such as affliction and doubt) with which Satan and his demons attack Christians, and which he says is "above all" other defenses)(Firmly believing in and personally appropriating the truth of the gospel, and remembering statements such as Romans 8:28, which asserts God's control over ALL things);

Salvation (the sure knowledge of the possession of eternal life gained for the believer by Christ);

God the Holy Spirit (the power each Christian gains from having God Himself dwelling within, again as attested to by God's word);

Prayer (the anytime, anywhere access to God that He has granted for Christians to use in pouring out their cares and concerns to Him, and in casting the weight of those concerns on Him, rather than bearing them alone (1 Peter 5:7)).
