I have a friend who is gay. He, to my knowledge has never acted upon his homosexual desires. He is the first one to condemn any provisions made for homosexuality and fights his seemingly natural tendencies by using hateful statements casting all homosexuals into a special hell fire designed specifically for the gay population.

I am not gay nor do I have these type of desires, but I do find myself in a sympathetic viewpoint of this seemingly clear cut controversy. I am bombarded with past lessons such as, "can a leopard change his spots?",or, "whose sin caused him to be blind?"...The fact is, if I am born with one leg shorter than the other, it is very likely that I will limp. If I am born right handed, the odds say I will write with my right hand....genetics determine so many factors making the arena of life a non-level playing field.

My father was an alcoholic. I too struggled with alcohol at one point in my life and can now say that Christ delivered me from it's proclivity. Perhaps a clearer meaning can be found in Jesus' answer to the apostles regarding our sinful state. Perhaps we are all born with some cross to bear and it is best to view these hurdles as possible victories in the name and for the Glory of God. Maybe this is why some are born blind, some are born alcoholics, and some are born gay.

A hermaphrodite is born with obvious issues, perhaps homosexuality is a genetic anomaly we as Christians should not judge as choice but a true genetic ailment found within.....can we judge, should we judge or should we simply love? Dean
