I am not aware of any Biblical references regarding fasting that mention or approve the consumption of alcohol during a fasting period. Some references (such as Daniel 10:3) state specifically that alcohol was not consumed during fasting. Exodus 34:28 indicates that, in addition to not consuming food, Moses did not even drink water during his forty days communing with God on Mount Sinai. Also, since alcoholic beverages are all derived from grains or fruits, it seems to me that consuming them during a fast undertaken as a means of religious self-denial before God would be unfaithful to the intent or spirit of the fast.
