2 Kings 1:17 indicates that King Joram (also called Jehoram) of the northern kingdom of Israel -- who is not to be confused with the king of Judah of the same name -- and Ahaziah were brothers, who were both sons of Ahab. Joram succeeded Ahaziah as king of the northern kingdom of Israel because Ahaziah had no son.
