There are several ways to keep your fire burning to serve the Lord.

Let's take a look at Leviticus 6:12:

"The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it."

The desire of God is that the fire on the altar must be kept burning. He, therefore, provided a way through which the fire will keep on burning without going down, and that was the daily addition of firewood.

Jesus spoke a parable about the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1-13; five were wise because they had extra oil for their lamps, while the remaining five were foolish because they didn't have enough oil in their lamps or extra oil to keep the fire of the lamp burning. They later came to their senses when the lamp was going out (verse 8), but it was too late.

In the same vein, if anyone will keep his or her fire burning to serve the Lord, such must daily add 'wood' to his or her fire like that of the Old Testament, or oil to the lamp like the parable in the New Testament. The question is, what are the 'woods' or 'oil' to be added daily to keep your fire burning so as to continually serve the Lord? These are:
1. Love (Matthew 22:37-39)
2. Faith (Hebrews 11:6)
3. Faithfulness (1 Corinthians 4:2)
4. Commitment to service (Romans 12:11).
5. Studying the Word (Joshua 1:8; 2 Timothy 2:15)
6. Prayers (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and
7. Fellowship with brethren (Hebrews 10:25).

The daily addition of the above 'woods' or 'oil' will keep your fire burning to serve the Lord.
