In my opinion, by saying we have the mind of Christ, Paul was referring to the presence of the Holy Spirit within Christians to guide them in the same way that Christ was filled with and guided by the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1), manifesting His presence in Christ's words and actions. For Christians, this guidance would include the words of the Bible, which the Holy Spirit also inspired. In another reference to the mind of Christ (Philippiams 2:5-8), Paul used the expression in connection with the humility that Christ (despite the fact of being God from eternity past) displayed in voluntarily allowing Himself to be incarnated, and to suffer death by crucifixion in order to atone for humanity's sins, as an indication of the same attribute that should be exhibited by His disciples.
Jesus' mind was always focused on his Father in heaven. He only spoke the words his Father gave him to speak and he only did the things his Father told him to do. He was one with his Father in complete unity. His entire life - birth, growing up, ministry, suffering, death and resurrection - were all focused on accomplishing the mission his Father has given him. To bring salvation to the human race and defeat sin, death and all powers of evil. God the Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit are one God existing in 3 persons. They all have exactly the same mind. They think the same way and act in unison. We know the mind of Christ because it is revealed to us in the bible through revelation from the Holy Spirit who lives in us. The bible reveals everything we need to know about the mind of God. It shows us God’s nature, character, will, emotions, plans, purposes, promises and much more. Even as a human being Jesus knew the bible (Old Testament) inside and out, because he had studied it, and the Holy Spirit living in him, taught Jesus everything he needed to know. He knew his Father’s mind and aligned his own mind with his Father's will. We have the mind of Christ when we devote ourselves to knowing and understanding the revelations contained in the bible, with the Holy Spirit as our teacher. Then we will understand the mission that God has given each one of us, and just like Jesus, we will be focused everyday on completing it.
