True, innate glory can be rightly ascribed only to God (or the LORD, according to the name by which He revealed Himself to Moses in Exodus 3:14-15). That is why David refers to Him in the cited passage as the King of Glory. This quality arises from His other divine attributes -- particularly His eternal nature, His holiness, His omnipotence, His majesty, and His love. As He Himself said in Isaiah 40:25-26, "To whom will you compare Me, or who is My equal?"

(A very memorable chorus from Handel's oratorio Messiah used Psalm 24 -- including the passage cited in the question -- as its text.)

David, the psalmist, answers his own rhetorical question in verse 10. “Who is this king of glory? The Lord God Almighty - he is the king of glory.” This is the English name of the God who is revealed in the bible - I Am who I Am.

This God is the creator of the heavens and earth (Genesis 1). God’s throne is in heaven, the earth is his footstool, and Jerusalem is the city of the Great King (Matt 5:34-35). God came and dwelt on Mount Zion in the temple (above the ark of the covenant) that was built to worship him in Jerusalem.

Jesus is also the king of glory. Jesus came the first time as a humble king, a suffering servant. Behold your king comes to you, humble and riding on a donkey, the foal of a donkey (Matt 21:5). Jesus will come the second time as the victorious king, who will be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Rev 19:16).

How does this king receive glory?
God the Father receives glory from his creation. The heavens declare the glory of God, the earth displays his handiwork. The Father receives glory from the Son who completed God’s plan of salvation by his death on the cross (John 17:1-5). The Father receives glory from the Holy Spirit who anointed the prophets to proclaim his word and who anointed Jesus to perform signs and wonders, and who raised Jesus to life again.

The Son received glory from his Father by giving him all authority and power to complete his mission and become the Saviour of the world (John 17:1-5). The Son receives glory from the Holy Spirit who points people to Jesus, to receive his salvation. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus by filling every Christian and using them to build Jesus’s kingdom on earth.

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit all receive glory from the adoration and worship of all the holy angels and the souls of the Saints in heaven, plus all the Christians on earth.

The Lord God Almighty is worthy.

In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped” (Revelation 5:12-14).

Jesus Christ will be returning in brilliance to set up His realm (Matt. 25:31 --31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.). This clarifies the reiteration of "Lift up your heads" in Psalm 24:7, 9.

David requires the entryways to open so the Lord, the strong King of brilliance, can enter.

Hail Him the King of glory,
Once the Lamb for sinners slain;
Tell, tell the wondrous story,
“Jesus comes to reign.”
