If the question is being asked in reference to the wording of the verse cited in the question (Colossians 4:2), I was unable to find any translation of that verse that speaks of being of a "sound mind". Rather, the verse is advising Christians to be alert or watchful, particularly with respect to signs of Christ's possible return in glory to earth at the close of the present age -- an event that will occur suddenly at an unannounced time, and for which the Bible consistently counsels Chrstians of any era (up to the present day) to be spiritually ready. (The only verse that I could find in the New Testament that is sometimes translated as telling Christians to be of a sound mind is 2 Timothy 1:7. However, in that verse, the reference is not to a "sound mind" in the sense of sanity, but to self-discipline, self-control, wise discretion, or good judgment (as various other translations of the verse express it).)
