While pastors may be commonly regarded as being "holier" than other individuals, all people (including even the most devout Christians, as well as those called to the ministry) remain sinful beings in this life who are also dwelling in a fallen world where disease and universal human death have been present ever since the fall into sin (not to mention the additional adversity that Jesus Himself told believers that they could expect to experience because of following Him). God has given humans the ability to develop preventive measures for many diseases through such means as vaccines. It is the responsibility of Christians to avail themselves of such measures (when possible) in order to maximize their opportunity for service to God by bringing as many people as they can to faith in Christ during their earthly lives. Christians should also not put God to the test by willfully refusing such measures when available. More importantly, God has lovingly and mercifully provided a means (through faith in Christ) to avoid the consequences of sin (separation from Him for eternity, in comparison to which even the most lengthy human lifespan becomes insignificant).
I am saddened by the fact that even after many pastors die from covid while still saying covid is a hoax and not getting vaccinated, 30-40% of evangelical Christians still refuse the vaccine! Maybe the pastors have thought, “If vaccines are being promoted by Democrats or a government-controlled by Democrats, they must be bad.” This is just my opinion.
