Back to verse 25. "After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, 'This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me.'"

Verse 26, "For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till He come."

To take communion and only think about yourself, is an unworthy manner. This celebration is all about, and because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross!

IT’S NOT ABOUT ME! IT’S ALL ABOUT HIM! AMEN.

Paul is saying that the bread and the wine used in the commemoration of Christ's institution of Holy Communion at the Last Supper are not merely physical substances, but are meant to represent (or literally become, depending upon denominational beliefs) the actual body and blood of Christ, based on Christ's own words (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-24; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)..

This sanctification of the bread and wine means that anyone who participates in the physical action of Holy Communion without recognizing or discerning this unique spiritual aspect, but thinks of it instead as an ordinary act of eating and drinking mere material substances, is thus actually subjecting himself or herself to God's adverse judgment (eternally, if not also temporally).

If an unbeliever takes communion he is adding judgment to himself.

Communion is only for believers. John 6:47. We do it to remember how Jesus died for our sins so we would not have to go to hell to pay for them. We do it to give all the glory to God for saving us sinners.

It has nothing to do with salvation. It is for believers to remember How Jesus died to pay our sin debt in full so we could never be condemned again. John 3:18 John 10:28-29.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
