I was thinking about giving to Afghanistan because of some of the suffering going on, but I also have some discernment concerning people that do not support Christianity, and mostly a Muslim.

In my opinion, financial support to any organization should keep an eye to the service of Christ's kingdom. That would mean support for causes that are consistent with the Biblical message, and meeting a variety of needs such as helping the poor, imprisoned, hungry, etc. I prefer to give to distinctly Christian organizations doing work I support, but gifts to groups that are not distinctly Christian can still do good work. If there is a group in Afghanistan that is helping to meet needs of Afghans specifically, then that may be a positive thing. If you can't be sure that the money will get to that group, and that it will be used for a good purpose, I would hesitate. You might look up an organization such as World Vision and see if they are doing work you want to support in Afghanistan.
There are no countries that support Christianity. They may tolerate it, but not support it. They may agree with Gods laws. But not true Christianity, True Christianity is believing the gospel, that Jesus the son of God came to earth born of a virgin, lived a perfectly sinless life, died on a cross to pay the sin debt of everyone in the world who would believe he did it for them. He rose from the dead after three days and was seen by over 400 people in the 40 days before His transfiguration and ascending to heaven. So, there is no such thing as a Christian nation. There may be a lot of Christians, born again believers, Ephesians 1:13-14, in any nation at any given time. But as a nation of believers, there is no such thing. Countries only tolerate Christianity. They do not support it. The USA was conceived according to God’s laws. The ten commandments. That judgment comes to all who break the law, whether it is a speeding ticket or murder. We have laws to protect the ones who keep the law. True Christianity.
I wouldn't support any country or government financially (except the US through the taxes I have to pay). There are a ton of Christian organizations that support Christians in other countries. I'd do some research and find one that I trust.
I humbly submit an opinion for consideration and discernment: Any corrupted altar or entity should not receive Christian blessings, period. Further, any support should go to the workers doing the Lord's harvest labor, and not to those actively endeavoring to restrain it. (John 7:24) Consider charity: Whenever there is a need in the world. Christian believers are the first to step forward with any assistance to all people in need, including any unbelievers. (Colossians 3:17) Muslim believers’ charity can only benefit other like-mined Muslims. They are forbidden to help any others and never infidels. (Galatians 4:8) Bottom Line: The Bible is shared and spread through love by its believers. Whereas the Qur'an is spread by the sword, with not much love from its believers. (Galatians 4:16) In the Lords freedom....warrior on.
