I would say that, although God is omnipotent, and nothing can happen without His permissive will, we live in a fallen world, the inhabitants of which are universally sinful by their own free choice, and therefore subject to temptation.

We also know that Satan exists and has demonic spiritual agents who serve him and do his bidding. I therefore have no difficulty believing that those agents can be assigned to influence or even cause the actions of the leaders of specific earthly governments -- and, by extension, the people they govern and lead.

All those individuals will be ultimately accountable to God for their actions, and be eternally judged for them. But in the present age, Satan's spiritual forces are still continually active and seeking to carry out Satan's will and desires on an international level.

I wonder how many demons are involved in the Russian attack on Ukraine? Ordinary people cannot understand why Putin has started this war. He could very well have been sitting safe in Russia till he resigns. Now he jeopardizes his own position.

The answer must be he has been forced from above. The Bible tells about Gog coming from a northern place and on his way down to Israel he will be joined by Iran and other muslim countries.

It is Jehova God himself who puts hooks in the jaws of Gog to force him out on this final war on earth. So Putin, or whoever Gog will be, cannot resist this will of demons. Demons act with the permission of Jehova God.

I can think of only 1 clear example of a demon ruling over a nation in the Bible. Daniel 9 says that Daniel was confessing Israel’s sin and praying for forgiveness for his people. While he was praying, the angel Gabriel arrived to give him an answer about God’s upcoming plans for Israel.

Gabriel told Daniel that his prayer was answered 3 weeks earlier. The reason for the delay in getting the message to him was that the “Prince of Persia” engaged Gabriel in battle and impeded his progress. Michael the Archangel was dispatched to neutralize the Prince of Persia and free Gabriel to continue his journey to deliver God’s “Truth” to Daniel. The Prince of Persia was a demonic spirit that ruled over the land of Persia. --Dr. Roger Barrier

James 3:16: "For where envy and self seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there."

1st Corinthians 14:33: "For God is not the author of confusion but of peace..."

Genesis 6:5: "For the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continuously."

Are there really DEMONS that are in powerful places? If we look with eyes that see, the obvious answer is... yes!

Not long ago a very influential person said, "Deep rooted religious beliefs must be changed!" Not too long ago, churches are not allowed to open for worship! Remember?

The world we live in, to mention just a few, has had these leaders, as heads of nations: Joseph Stalin, Ivan the Terrible, Leopold ||, Adolph Hitler, Vlad The Impaler. Were they emulating Our Lord Jesus?

Luke 4:5-7: Jesus was tempted in a confrontation with Satan. He retaliated with God's words. Why didn't church leaders refuse to shut doors? People could choose to stay home?

2 Corinthians 3:4 tells us that the minds of unbelievers are blind.

1 John 3:8: "He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning."

Every person born has a choice. There are only 2 to choose from.

Ephesians 6:10 - 12 warns that we fight powers and principalities, not flesh and blood.

Moses was confronted with Pharoah. Exodus 9:14 - 17. God reveals that He was using him to display His power!

In 1 Samuel 10, the people had insisted they wanted a king to be like other nations. God warned them through Samuel that they would have chaos!

There has been chaos on earth since...

Isaiah 7:15 declares, "Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know how to refuse evil choose the good." A simple diet. Choose God, not Satan.

Philippians 3:18,19: "For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame -- who set their mind on earthly things."

We hear about horrible things every day. Who is in charge of the earth? The one who seeks to kill and destroy and steal, that's who!

I and many others would prefer it to be The King of Kings, The Lord of Lords!

Romans 1:18: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, (19) because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them." God's creation screams about His existence!

People surpress the truth about God. Sinful people choose this path.

Deuteronomy 30:15: "Look today I Am offering you life and prosperity, death and disaster. The great I Am pleads "choose life."

God has been patient! How many leaders are listening? Will they see? So much suffering! Why?

Demons are roaming and doing their work!
