Orthodoxy and orthopraxy seem to be at odds with each other. But I think that is because people see them as a “Faith versus Grace” concept.

Really they should be hand in hand. Think of it this way: correct teaching should produce correct behavior. The first issue is proper biblical teaching, not just someone's private interpretation.

God looks at the heart. God opens hearts. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

So orthodox teaching should produce proper conduct, orthopraxy.

Hebrews 2:1: "Therefore, we must give more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away."

James 1:26,27: "If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble and to keep oneself unspotted from the world."

Micah 6:8: "He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you. But to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

To sum up, Jesus said "Love one another, as I have loved you." Jesus laid down His life for His friends!
