In my opinion, the title "prophet" is a more inclusive term that encompasses the function of a "seer". One way that I have seen it expressed is that a prophet is at once a teacher or proclaimer of known truth, a perceiver of hidden truth (seer), and a bearer of new truth (a revelator).
