As I see it, the title "Everlasting Father" is not related to the Son's position in the Trinity, but is used in reference to duration. He is not merely represented as everlasting, but as even the Father of eternity, since it was through His work that eternal life was made possible for humanity.
Isaiah 9:6: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of peace. The prophet Isaiah revealed unto us that our Lord Jesus was referred to as “The Everlasting Father.” For it was revealed unto prophet Isaiah that the Lord Jesus would come and be a wonderful counselor and a caring Father to His followers hearkening to His words spoken to every child of God who is led by God the Father to Him. For this Child Who would be born would be a king and be a Father to guide His chosen children to walk in the path of righteousness. As our Everlasting Father was from the beginning of the creation, for Abraham rejoiced to see His day and he saw it and was glad. (John 8:56,58/Gen 18:2) Being the Father and sent into this world He was tested by the scribes and Pharisees who failed to discern and walked away knowing their sinful nature. For a woman was brought to Him caught in adultery and wanted Lord Jesus to condemn her to be stoned to death. Lord Jesus stooped down and wrote with His fingers as though He heard them not, and then He stood and said if there is any among you without sin be the first to stone her and they all walked away. (John 8:3-9) Lord Jesus was sent to guide and lead the creation of God to be with a repentant heart, for being the everlasting Father He then spoke to the woman, "Neither do I condemn thee, go sin no more." The men who brought the woman, knowing their sinful nature were ashamed of themselves and they departed from the Everlasting Father, as Jeremiah was led by the Lord, to reveal unto us, "He that departs from me shall be written in the earth because they have forsaken the Lord Everlasting Father the fountain of living water." (Jer 17:13) John 6:27: Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
