What is "the day" (1 Corinthians 3:13)?

1 Corinthians 3:13
each builder’s work will be plainly seen, for the Day will make it clear, because it will be revealed by fire. And the fire will test what kind of work each has done.

"The day" is in reference to the day that Christ will judge believers on the labor they performed for Him while living, according to Paul's gospel of God's grace, and at the Judgement Seat of Christ (not to be confused with the end-times White Throne Judgement):

2 Cor 5:9-10
"Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."

Rom 2:16
"In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."
