How much prophecy did Jeremiah understand (Jeremiah 23:5-6)?

Did Jeremiah know that he was prophesying about the Messiah? Or was his view limited to promises only as they applied to the physical renewal of Israel as in Jeremiah 30:3?

Jeremiah 30:3
Restoration for Israel and Judah
3 For behold, days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will restore the fortunes of my people, Israel and Judah, says the Lord, and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall take possession of it."

Jeremiah 23:1 - 40

NKJV - 1 Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!" says the LORD. 2 Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: "You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings," says the LORD.

In my opinion, Jeremiah may not have understood all the implications or details regarding the fulfillment of his prophetic words, but he would have known that he was speaking of a Being who would be more than merely mortal (or even an earthly ruler of Israel) by ascribing to Him (in Jeremiah 23:6) the title of "The LORD our righteousness", using the divine name by which God referred to Himself in His conversation with Moses (Exodus 3:14).
