Why would a Shepherd (instead of a carpenter) be hammering nails (Ecclesiastes 12:11-12)?
11 The words of the wise are like goads, and the words of scholars are like well-driven nails, given by one Shepherd. 12 And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh.

Interestingly enough, Christ is the Good Shepherd and he was also a Master Carpenter. The scholars were the Pharisees and Saduccees, the religious leaders and scholars, who drove the nails into the Shephard/Carpenters hands and feet when they had Jesus murdered on the cross. Foreshadow of Messiah here during the 1st Temple years. Jesus, of course, was alive during the 2nd Temple time frame.
