During the Millennial reign of the Messiah, there will be no sin in the earth. Prior to this time, Revelation 20:1-3, speaks about the serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, who will be bound for a thousand years, and will not be able to deceive the nations. The Millennial reign of Christ will be a time of peace and righteousness upon the earth. Here are some scriptural references about the reign of Christ: Isaiah 2:4, 9:6-7, 11:1-10, 24:21-23, 35:1-9, 60:10-14, 65:25 Micah 4:2-4 Ezekiel 37:15-25 Psalm 72:8 Daniel 7:13-14 Jeremiah 31:33

Your question: “How will there be sin during the 1000-year reign?” The answer is that they will still have free will. Listen to what Paul writes concerning how the saints will judge the world. 1 Corinthians 6:2: “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?" Why would Jesus say in one church letter that he that comes shall rule the nations with a rod of iron if he was not speaking of a future event? Revelation 2:26: “And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron.” Then why would we read in Revelation 20 that judgment was given unto the saints during the 1000-year reign? Revelation 20:4: “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them:” If you read Zechariah 14, you will see a battle take place where we, Jesus, are triumphant. You see those left from the nations that came against Christ are given a choice. If their choice is to defy Christ, they are punished. So the answer is yes, they can defy Christ. This is sin.
