Will or can a practicing homosexual fulfill the promise of 1 John 5:11-12? “ God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son, He who has the Son has life.”

We could ask the same question about a practicing gossip, or a slanderer, or a drunkard.

Can a practicing homosexual fulfill the promise of 1 John 5:11-12? “ God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son, He who has the Son has life.”

1 John 5:11-12 says "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." (NKJV).

A homosexual is a person who walks in the darkness of sinful disobedience. He dwells under God's condemnation. The Bible proclaims that homosexual people are among those that God will judge.

The writer of Scripture is addressing believers in this context, affirming the assurance of God's gift of eternal life to those who believe in Jesus Christ. Leviticus 18:22, 20:13, Romans 1:26-27, and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 consider homosexuality as an abomination among God's people.

Leviticus 18:22 says "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. Romans 1:26-27 says "For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due." (NKJV).

1 Corinthians 9:10-11 says: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." (NKJV).

A practising homosexual cannot confess Christ and maintain his abhorrent lifestyle. He cannot confess Christ and dwell in the kingdom of darkness at the same time. He must choose between Christ and Satan.

We cannot have two ways about it.
