Good question, Andy! First, see the big picture: Blind Bartimaeus His Condition—Blind and Begging Mark 10:46 His Conviction—Heard of Jesus, and cried for mercy Mark 10:47 His Call—Jesus called him Mark 10:49 His Conversion—He came to Jesus Mark 10:50 His Consecration—He followed Jesus Mark 10:52 W.J.M. -- Rev. W. J. M. Parker? The word "shouted" has a Greek NT significance here: κράζειν καί λέγειν, Matthew 9:27; Matthew 21:15; Mark 10:47; Luke 4:41, It comes from the Greek word, " κράζω" (krazó) and means in this context, "to cry i. e. call out aloud, speak with a loud voice." He was excited to contact Jesus. Are we this excited? He was bold. Are we this bold? He didn't care what people thought of him. Do we care what people think of us?
