Psalm 30:1: "I will extol You,O Lord, for You have lifted me up, and have not let my foes rejoice over me."

This is a declaration of faith. I will remember and honor You, I will not forget You!

We should determine always, that God is our provider, our redeemer, our helper, our creator. There isn't anyone like Him. He alone is God! He alone deserves praise!

Bless the Lord, He alone is Light. He walks on wind and makes clouds His chariot. (Psalm 104)

I like the barebones outline of this SECTION OUTLINE NINETY-NINE (PSALM 99) by Harold Wilmington. I will fill in the details.

This psalm anticipates when Jesus Christ will establish his earthly kingdom and extols the kingship of the Lord.

I. THE PSALMIST CALLS PEOPLE TO EXALT THE LORD (Ps 99:1-5, 9):

A. Because of his splendor (Ps 99:1): "He sits on his throne between the cherubim."

MSG Psalm 99:1 -- "God rules. On your toes, everybody! He rules from his angel throne—take notice! God looms majestic in Zion, He towers in splendor over all the big names. Great and terrible your beauty: let everyone praise you! Holy. Yes, holy."

B. Because of his sovereignty (Ps 99:2-3): He is "supreme above all the nations."

ICB Psalm 99:2

"The Lord in Jerusalem is great. He is supreme over all the nations."

C. Because of his sinlessness (Ps 99:4-5, 9): He is both just and holy. Resources such as Wycliffe offer "perfectly sinless" or "separated from sin" as valid translation suggestions for "holy," describing it as being "totally set apart and separated from everything that is sinful and imperfect."

Merriam-Webster's Thesaurus entry for "extol" directly lists "adore" as a core synonym for the sense "to celebrate or proclaim the glory of". So, I close with this prayer hymn,

O Thou, whom all Thy saints adore,
We now with all Thy saints agree,
And bow our inmost souls before
Thy glorious, awful majesty.

--a hymn written around 1741 by Charles Wesley: "O Thou, Whom All Thy Saints Adore"
