At our church, we had an influx of Christians who left another church because they were practicing such things as "soaking prayer", sitting in dark rooms, and other sensory-based experiences. The upshot of this is that these are not instructions from the Bible, but from men. If you wish to know what sanctification is, you can study the Bible, pray with other believers and in your private space, spread the gospel to friends and family, and use your spiritual gift(s) to build up the church. So many people today want their ears tickled and stray away from sound doctrine. There is no better way to grow than to listen to God's Word and obey it.
