I am of the opinion that if one sins, contritely and sincerely asks for forgiveness from Jesus Christ, then those sins are forgiven; the slate is clean.

Going into a relationship with Jesus' forgiveness does not alter any facts. Jesus cannot make you a virgin again. If you participated in a sexual relationship which didn't end in a committed relationship, a realization will arise that you committed sin according to God. If you ask for forgiveness and don't commit a sexual sin until you confine yourself to one life partner, then you are going in with a clean heart.

Honesty with your "soul mate" is paramount in this relationship. Baggage will weigh you down if not revealed early on. It's unfortunate sometimes that pasts rear their ugly heads. If dealt with before any revelations, the relationship will survive most, if not all, surprises. Honesty only takes a back seat to our relationship with God.

With God and honesty, the past can be conquered and happiness can be attained.

A Christian who marries another Christian under the eyes of God in a Christian wedding are both virgins. They remain virgins until death parts them. Under the eyes of God they are both holy and their past have been forgotten. Should one pass, the living person continues to be a virgin.
