This is a very emotive issue and despite our best intentions we can do a lot of harm for the cause of Christ by hamfisted judgemental attitudes surrounding it.
It is beyond debate that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
It is also a fact that the blood of Jesus washes away all sin.
Amid the emotional and real life trauma of a broken marriage and the lifelong effects on dads mums and kids there are only two people who know the truth, despite what version of events we hear and we would be wise to be sensitive to that. As well as that - our God sees all things done in private and He has oversight in it all.
Being there to love, help, comfort, encourage and share Christs love with all parties is a wise position to take. Leaving God to decide responsibility and guilt for the breakup frees us to do His work amid it.
God can surprise and amaze you with what He can do with the most hard and embittered people who have been through this particular trauma. Best let Him work His power and sit back and give Him the glory for it.
I do - every day.
