Yes daily prayer is very very important. Jesus is our best example. The main reason for daily prayer must be to start the day right, taking into account the
prayer the Lord taught us and I quote, "Let thy will be done."

It is my understanding our Lord prayed daily for this one purpose: To be in God's will. We are in this world but not of this world. With all the temptation that surrounds us, it is very easy to fall short of God's glory and go out of his will.
When we are in his will, our life then begins to be that light which starts to shine, that the world may know Him, the creator of all things. Whatever we do, it must not be for our glory, but for His glory, and our daily prayer must be to perfect Him in our lives.

May I just add, that when one is praying to be in "His will", we will give thanks, we will ask, we will seek, we will forgive, and we will confess because it has to do with His will.

1 John:5:14 tells us that we have confidence when we ask or pray according to His will, the type of prayer God answers.
