A "goddess" named Sophia is not mentioned in the bible, however Sophia is mentioned too many times for me to count. Sophia is a Greek word for wisdom. So in an English bible you will see wisdom as the transliteration.
1Cor 1:30 says " but you are from Him in union with Christ Jesus who became for us the (Greek) Sophia;(English) wisdom from God. So wisdom is from God not a goddess.

A lot of people get caught up in philosophy which is a compound Greek word, Phileo and Sophia. "Lovers of wisdom." These people think they have a special deep thinking and knowledge that others aren't privy to. Sort of like the Gnostics - 'gnosis' is another Greek work for 'knowledge.' It is not the full knowledge, "epignosis," (GK) found in Philemon 1:6.
