Marriage is the only time you should be in a romantic relationship according to God and Christian beliefs. If you are a teenager or young adult, please heed the advice of the first answer from Michael. Give yourself time to mature and know who you are and to reach your own goals. If the friend values you, they will be willing to wait and grow/mature with you; so make sure that both of you share the same spiritual beliefs and study the bible together and pray together for God's guidance, strength, wisdom and love.

Don't rush marriage just so you can have sex. Marriage should be God-ordained and directed. Proverbs 3:5,6 instructs us to trust God with all our hearts and don't make decisions on our own, and I would say especially on our own feelings & emotions because those are subject to change daily. In all our ways consult, listen to and follow God's leadership. Trust Him to lead you in the right direction according to His perfect Will for your life. I know it's hard being young and dealing with hormones, peer pressure and temptation. I have been there! Get and stay so close to God that you want to please Him more than you please your flesh and emotions. Talk to Him about what you're feeling. He's your Father, Savior, Friend and Counselor. He's listening and cares for you deeply and has been through human emotions just like you, so He understands. I am praying for your faith and strength in The Lord. Blessings!

My wife and I were high school sweethearts. She was a freshman and I was a sophomore when we started dating. We got married when she graduated in 1959. She was 17 and I was 18.

We have stayed faithful to each other all our years. Age really has nothing to do with it but how mature the two people are at the time. I had been on my own as I left home to work in another city the day I got out of school.

When we got married we lived 150 miles away from our parents. Probably the best thing for us because we only had each other to lean on.

I certainly do not have all the answers, but I know God does bless those who live according to scripture. Husbands, love your wives as Christ loves the church. Wives. Honor your husband.

Staying married to the wife of your youth is one of the greatest blessings we could ever have. Not that either one of is us perfect, but that we love each other the way God intended. God instituted the family before the church.

But, it takes two to make a marriage work. And not all marriages are made in heaven. I have been so blessed to have a wife who loves me just the way I am, with all my faults and weaknesses. She does not nag, but she sometimes lets me know what she thinks. We make all big decisions together but I give her all the freedom to do as she wants because I trust her and she never lets me down.

So I am so blessed now at almost 78 years old, to have a wife like the one I have. I am just as attracted to her now as I was when we first met.

Now in our old age we are reaping what we sowed. Never ending love..
