I have lived through this nightmare and God has given me perspective and a heart to encourage others who are living it. I wrote a blog that has helped many other parents who feel they have nowhere to turn and that no one understands. Maybe it will help someone reading this post: http://waywardchildren.blogspot.com/

Lea Ann, I just finished reading your entire blog on wayward children. Thank you so much for writing it. I am encouraged by it.

I just lost my 49-year-old son who was severely mentally ill and an alcoholic. Two years ago I sat with him and we prayed. He accepted Christ as his savior and repented. He continued to pray and talk to God, but his addiction finally got the best of him. He had a massive coronary. I can only pray that he is in God's hands now.

Again, thank you and God Bless you.
PS-Your grand daughter is beautiful.

Hi Susan. Thank you for your kind words. I'm so sorry about your son, but we can rest in the knowledge that God always does what is right and you can entrust your son to Him. I'm glad you were encouraged by my blog. May God continue to comfort you in your loss.

Blessings as you move forward.
