Bottomline - The O.T. believers looked forward to their Redeemer (Messiah = Christ). Today believers look back to the Lord's work on the cross. The Theology of the O.T. is the SAME as the Theology of the N.T. Only by faith in our "Creator" are persons saved from eternal seperation from His presence.
New Testament theology deals with such things as the Law, that God gave it to point out the sinfulness of man (Rom 3:19-20; Romans 3:19 - 20; “No One Is Righteous”). Romans 3:19-20 goes like this: 19 "Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin." (Gal 3:19-22) That being brought low by the law, man might then look up by faith to God, who justifies the ungodly by grace (Rom 3:23-24): “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified fully by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." This is actually God's problem as well as ours, or so He sees it, so New Testament theology also deals with God and His redemptive program. "To know God’s salvation in the present and to share in the final consummation of His redemption in the future is to receive Christ Jesus by faith now as Savior and as Lord, ‘For there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved’ (Acts 4:12; cf. Rom 10:9, 10; John 1:12; Heb 2:9, 10). “Logically, then, the church has a mission. Christians ‘are not left to themselves to work out their own goals, or to ponder the nature of their primary purpose in life, but are under orders from their head and have been given direction for their lives by the commission of their Lord: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you”’ (Matt 28:19, 20; cf. Acts 1:8). And as they go, they are assured by their Lord of His power (Matt 28:18) and His presence (28:20)." https://www.biblegateway.com/resources/encyclopedia-of-the-bible/New-Testament-Theology
