Yes, it is. Those of us who receive Jesus as Savior are instantly filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit equips us with a NEW Spiritual Nature that is there to restrain and eventually put to death the old sinful nature we were born with. The sinful nature, the soul, is the mind, will and emotions. Those are the source of "earthly passion." Our passion in the Holy Spirit is utterly Spiritual, putting distance between us and earthly things. By surrendering our mind, will and emotions to God, we then freely and clearly, from our Spiritual Nature, live in and from Spiritual insights, understandings and wisdom (that which is from above). It is amazing, stunning, frightening, how quickly one can short-circuit one's Spiritual Nature in favor of anger, revenge, violence, foul language, gossip, distortion of facts and the truth. That is when the "things from below, things that are of the earth," take control. The Christian must instantly recognize that and "shift gears" into his or her Spiritual Nature, reflecting the Truth and the Love of God in every circumstance and situation.
Christ certainly had passion as He healed the sick and cast out demons. He saw people as a sheep without a shepherd. Certainly, it was a passion for lost sinners that led Jesus to the cross. If Christ lives in us, and we let Him have His way, certainly passion that His kingdom would come and His will would be done would be active in us.
